A picky eater is someone who eats a narrow and inadequate selection of food. Selective eating is a common challenge in children and, to a degree, in adults, as well. The good news is that there is a wealth of evidence-based research providing practical behavior strategies on how to gradually increase the variety of foods your child will eat.
In this presentation, Todd Kellogg, LMFT, BCBA, will explain selective eating/food refusal/picky eating and will offer strategies to promote healthy eating habits at home.
Materials (PDF format):
— Helping Picky Eaters
— Approach 1: Up to 5 Novel Items
— Approach 2: Plates A and B
— Approach 3: Plates of Prefered Items with 1 Novel Item
— Encouraging Children to Try New Foods: article
