NOTE to video watchers: the acronym “LAUSD” stands for “Los Angeles Unified School District.”
In order to maintain learned or emerging skills, a child may need IEP services in addition to those that are provided during the regular school year. The PPT must determine which, if any, “extended school year” (ESY) services will be included in the child’s IEP and when those services will be provided.
In this webinar, special education advocate Julie Swanson will discuss the factors that your child’s team should examine in order to determine eligibility for ESY and, if eligible, what those services may include.
Materials (PDF format):
— Extended School Year (ESY)
— State Dept. ESY Topic Brief
