Alescia Ford, MS, OTR/L, ATP
Alescia is an NBCOT-certified Occupational Therapist (OT) and RESNA-nationally certified Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) who works to support students across their educational careers. As an Assistive Technology Specialist, she evaluates students’ needs for assistive technology (AT), trains students, educators, and parents on implementation plans, develops district-wide competencies for assistive technology processes, and consults on literacy support programming, accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning guiding principles. Alescia also conducts professional development seminars for educational teams— on small, discipline-specific scales as well as for larger school-wide faculty groups.
Alescia is the owner of Adapt & Learn, a pediatric therapy service provider with clinic locations in Simsbury and Farmington. She manages a team of occupational therapists (OT) who deliver skilled interventions to support learners with complex motor and language profiles as well as learners who have a need to remediate fine motor, visual motor perceptual, global motor coordination and sensory integration deficits.
