A Working Guide to Your NVLD Child
During COVID-19

Marcia Eckerd, PhD

May 15, 2020
10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

WEBINAR

While kids with Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities (NVLD) have good verbal skills, they are typically detail-oriented, black and white thinkers, inflexible with change and socially awkward.
As parents of children with NVLD, we always face a daily array of challenges. Now, Covid-19 has turned our lives upside down and we are more stressed than usual. Having a challenging kid when emotional reserves are low is especially difficult.

During the pandemic, it’s particularly important for us to understand the issues that drive our kid’s emotions and behavior so we can respond in helpful and appropriate ways. Licensed psychologist Marcia Eckerd, PhD, will discuss the why’s and how’s of NVLD kids, how they present their difficulties at home, how Covid-19 may have made their problems more pronounced, and what we can do to help
them— and ourselves— cope more successfully.
